What choked the #BillGates backed startup company LightsailEnergy? Before the shutdown, it spent $80 million dollars within 10 years to commercialize CAES (Compressed Air Energy Storage) system in #California US. Its founder is my fellow Canadian, the prodigy girl Danielle Fong. Yes, everyone knows air tank can store energy & release on demand. They did build the highest quality air tank with 5000 psi capacity, and its core is shown in the picture. But why eventually failed? To my best guess, it was choked by a must-have transmission, which performance requirement is so crucial, almost an ideal automatic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Assuming they can use whatever available technology & outsourced equipment to pump air into the great tank. But unluckily no available of heavy duty CVT, even all deep pocket carmakers are still humbly use those limited gear shifts transmissions, manual or automatic one, though some CVTs seem good, however only good for light duty applications e.g. bikes & small cars because of its too high friction loss. If bad tranny, a fully charged air tank cannot sustain its output even remaining pressure is still high, e.g. 4000 psi. It means the energy density is greatly discounted. #energystorage #transmission welcome share/comment/like!

With this invention, in theory, you can convert tap-water DC flow to 5000 psi hydraulic oil DC flow. No special hydraulic motor/pump used, my core just comprises many different sizes of dual rod-ends double action hydraulic cylinders + electromagnetic spool valves + embedded computer.

When starting a load from standstill state, the required transient rev ratio is ∞, i.e. infinite. No tranny can exactly do that, even any real CVT cannot, unless by insertion of a clutch or torque converter, and such a corner grinding transience will render very low efficiency by generating useless heat.
